Adding a Form-Based App with the Universal Connector (UC2)
Article: KB0010577 Published: 07/10/2023 Last modified: 07/10/2023

The Generic Connector (UC2) is a universal form-based connector that can be used to connect almost any web application to OneLogin by using its own login page, even if it's not already in our app catalog.

In order to work with the generic connector, a web app must have a dedicated login page with a different URL from the website's home page, and cannot use Flash, iFrames, or multi-page logins. If your web app does not meet these criteria, the UC2 application will be unable to connect with it, but you may still be able to connect it to OneLogin with the advanced custom connector or by submitting a Fastrack request.

  1. Add the application Generic Connector (UC2). Give it a name and icon that you'd like it to display in the OneLogin user portal, and click Save.

  2. In Configuration, enter the URL for the website's sign-in page, e.g. https://example.com/login.

Note: This page must contain a form prompting the user for both username and password, and cannot be the website's home page.

  3. In Parameters, map the app's attributes to OneLogin attributes. For example, if your users use their email addresses to sign into the app, select Email for the Username attribute. Leave the attributes with - No default - to allow users to set their own usernames or passwords.

  4. Save your changes and assign the app to your users as normal.
